Sympa
What it is
Sympa is open-source mailing list management software for administrators running list services. It offers web, email, command-line, and SOAP interfaces. List owners can manage members and configuration, while moderators review messages on moderated lists. Membership sources can include local or remote files, other Sympa lists, LDAP searches, and SQL queries for dynamic subscribers, owners, or moderators. Sympa keeps searchable text and web archives with configurable access, message removal, and ZIP export. Its SOAP/HTTP service exposes list, membership, and subscription operations subject to access controls. Configurable DKIM verification and signing are available, with ARC seals supported from version 6.2.72. The software runs on POSIX-like systems including Linux and macOS, not Windows. Self-hosting requires Perl, a mail server, and an HTTP server for the web interface, plus a supported database such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB, Oracle, or SQLite.
