Stripe ACH Direct Debit
San Francisco, California, United States and Dublin, Ireland
What it is
Stripe ACH Direct Debit is a paid web and API service for collecting reusable payments from customers’ US bank accounts. Stripe describes it as useful for businesses handling large or recurring transactions. Customers must be in the US, transactions use USD, and the minimum amount is $0.50. Standard settlement takes four business days from payment creation, while confirmation can take up to four business days. Standard settlement costs $0.80 per successful transaction, capped at $5. Eligible US users can choose faster settlement for $1.20 per transaction, with two-business-day settlement. Bank details can be checked through instant Financial Connections verification or hosted microdeposits. Checkout, Payment Links, embedded forms, and the Payment Element are supported; the Express Checkout Element and in-app payments are not. Mandates authorize debits. Payments may fail or be disputed, and ACH disputes are final. Full refunds are available within 180 days, but partial refunds are not supported.
