Strata
What it is
Strata is a semantic layer platform for self-service BI and governed access to warehouse data. It turns database tables into a business-ready model so people can explore information without SQL. Teams define fields, metrics, and relationships in YAML, with model changes tracked through migrations and Git. Strata routes queries across a warehouse and fast OLAP tiers to a suitable datasource. It includes dashboards with automatically arranged views, report subscriptions, scheduled reports, and a Google Sheets add-on that refreshes results in place. Teams can also build and share AI agents using the governed model, inspect and edit their queries, and retain row-level security and masking; agents are limited to the model’s governed measures and dimensions. A REST API supports metadata discovery and query execution validated against semantic fields. Strata Server is a self-hosted web application distributed as a private container image. The Free plan costs nothing and includes one developer, 25 users, and two data sources per project. Team and Enterprise pricing is custom.
