StatusOwl
What it is
StatusOwl hosts status pages and monitors services, opening an incident when an attached monitor records three failed checks in a row. The first successful check posts a recovery update and resolves the incident. Its checks cover HTTP/HTTPS, ping, TCP ports, SSL certificate and domain expiry, and server metrics. Status pages can include uptime history, timestamped incident timelines, scheduled maintenance, custom domains, and branding. Private pages are unlisted and return a 404 to people without the link, but they are not password-protected. Email, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, ntfy, and signed webhooks are listed as notification channels; uptime checks do not currently trigger notifications, and pages have no subscriber form or list to send incident updates. The Free plan is free and includes one status page, 25 monitors checked every three minutes, two team members, and 30 days of history. StatusOwl is available on web and through an API.

The verdict
StatusOwl combines service monitoring with status pages and automatic incident handling. Its notification and subscriber limitations matter if a team needs checks to alert people or incidents to reach subscribers.
Who it suits
StatusOwl may suit teams that want service checks and public or unlisted status pages. Its one-region-per-monitor limit and lack of subscriber updates are important for teams planning incident communications.
