Starfield Script Extender
What it is
Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) adds scripting capabilities and functionality to Starfield on Windows. It supports only the latest Starfield version available on Steam; the Windows Store and Game Pass releases are not supported. The official site lists build 0.2.21 for Starfield version 1.16.244. SFSE supports plugins, with a changelog listing a plugin manager, a Scaleform menu plugin interface, and preliminary custom Papyrus native functions. Some game updates have required plugins to be recompiled or compatibility data to be updated. Installation uses Steam or the installer: copy the DLL and EXE files into the Starfield folder, not its Data folder, then launch with sfse_loader.exe. The site warns against using Windows App Store files. SFSE components use a code signature intended to reduce virus-scanner false positives. The software is free at no cost. An as-is disclaimer excludes express and implied warranties, and file uploads to other sites are not allowed.
