SongEngine
What it is
SongEngine is a music plug-in that builds chord progressions and generates basslines, arpeggios, phrases, and melodies that fit them. Chords can be created with Chord Pads, imported as MIDI progressions, or generated inside the plug-in. The free core includes more than 60 presets. Live Mode converts MIDI chords from a keyboard or DAW into new MIDI phrases in real time. Generated parts can be dragged into a DAW as standard MIDI files, and the optional MassExporter writes hundreds of phrases to a folder. SongEngine runs as VST2, VST3, and AU, requiring a compatible host such as FL Studio or Ableton Live. Windows support covers versions 7 through 11 in 64-bit; macOS requires 10.13 or later and a 64-bit Intel or Apple Silicon processor. There is no official Linux build, though the manual mentions reported Wine use. The maker says human musicians crafted its algorithms and generated MIDI may be used commercially.
