Shottr
What it is
Shottr is a macOS screenshot app with capture, editing, annotation and sharing tools. It supports scrolling screenshots, combining and resizing captures, and pinning images on screen. Markup options include text and freehand notes, highlights, spotlights, pixelation and removal of selected content. A screen ruler, magnification, color picking, OCR text extraction and QR reading support image review. Images can be exported as PNG or JPEG. Shottr runs on macOS Catalina 10.15 and later; its maker says Windows and Linux support is unlikely because the app relies on low-level macOS APIs and its codebase is not portable. Screenshots and OCR are processed locally, while screenshot data is sent out when Upload is used. Direct S3-compatible uploads provide shareable links without sending the images through Shottr's server. Shottr Cloud uploads require an access token, and anyone who knows or guesses an image URL can view it. The Free plan is free and usable indefinitely, but commercial use requires a license. Basic Tier is $12 a month.
