Satama Container Registry
Espoo, Finland
What it is
Satama Container Registry is a cloud service for storing, organizing, and distributing container images used in research projects. Built on Harbor, it provides a central registry where users push and pull images with compatible OCI clients such as Docker, Podman, or ORAS. Role-based access and image signing help control which images are authorized for deployment. Integrated vulnerability scanning and software-bill-of-materials tools help inspect images users control. A web interface displays image information. Access starts through MyCSC, with a default self-service quota and applications available for additional resources; some resources are provided only on request. CSC recommends Linux knowledge, and users remain responsible for image security. Free use follows CSC’s policy, primarily for eligible research and education projects affiliated with Finnish research organizations. The listed plan is free, with usage counted in billing units. CSC Service Desk provides support.
