Sample Dicer
What it is
Sample Dicer is a four-layer one-shot sampler that turns raw audio into playable sounds that can evolve over time. Each drag-and-drop layer has waveform, volume, pitch, start, shift, and fade controls. Users can randomize samples and parameters together or separately, lock layers, and use Back to return to the previous roll. Performance tools include per-trigger evolution, Round Robin, Burst repeat, chromatic key tracking, and up to 16 voices of polyphony. The interface offers twenty colour themes, scalable presets, and an optional Glitch Mode that changes the sound and visuals. Sample Dicer is available as AU and VST3 plug-ins and as a standalone application. The AU version is described for Logic Pro and other AU hosts; Windows use requires a VST3-compatible host. Listed uses range from music production and live performance to game development, film, video, podcasts, sound design, rapid prototyping, and sample-library creation. Free indie use allows commercial releases without royalties or attribution below the stated company revenue and project-budget limits. A paid commercial license is required if either threshold is reached: combined annual company revenue of USD 1,000,000 or a project production and development budget of USD 250,000.
