RetroDECK
What it is
RetroDECK is free software for Linux handhelds, desktops, HTPCs, and PC consoles, packaging emulators, engines, ports, clients, utilities, and the ES-DE frontend in one preconfigured environment. Its Configurator handles file compression and management, BIOS validation, presets, and component tuning. Steam ROM Manager and ES-DE favorites integration can add games to a Steam library, while Steam Input layouts support Steam Deck and external controllers. RetroDECK connects with RetroAchievements, and PortMaster provides a continuously updated catalog of downloadable ports. The self-contained Flatpak uses sandboxing to isolate components. Supported systems are x86_64 Linux devices, including Steam Deck and Linux desktops. Games, proprietary BIOS files, and firmware are not included; users must provide legally obtained files where required. The project is volunteer-run and hobby-focused. Donations are optional and do not provide perks or early access.
