Restate

What it is
Restate is a durable execution runtime for services, workflows, and AI agents. It journals progress as work runs, then resumes after failures without discarding completed work. Developers can build with durable functions, workflows, Virtual Objects, queues, durable RPC, timers, signals, and flow control. Its UI shows execution journals and provides controls to cancel, kill, restart, or pause executions. The runtime can run as a self-hosted single binary, managed Restate Cloud, or Restate BYOC in a customer cloud account. SDKs are listed for TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, Kotlin, Rust, and Ruby, with integrations including OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK, Google Gemini, Pydantic AI, LangChain, and Vercel AI SDK. Restate lists API, self-hosted, and web access, event triggers, automatic retries, execution observability, and human approvals. The free plan is free with 50k durable actions monthly; Restate Cloud is $75 a month.
