QNX Neutrino RTOS
What it is
QNX Neutrino RTOS is a paid real-time operating system for embedded applications and target hardware. Its microkernel keeps drivers, applications, protocol stacks, and file systems outside the kernel in memory-protected user space. When a component fails, the system can terminate it, reclaim resources, and restart it without rebooting. Networking support includes IPv4, IPv6, IPSec, FTP, HTTP, SSH, and Telnet. QNX Momentics provides an Eclipse-based development environment with memory-protection diagnostics and system-tracing tools. The RTOS supports multiprocessing, transparent distributed processing, and POSIX-based portability. Listed processor families include MIPS, PowerPC, SH-4, ARM, StrongArm, XScale, and x86. QNX Software Center manages QNX Software Development Platform versions 7.x and 8.x. A 30-day evaluation license supports exploratory development and proof-of-concept work, excluding commercial development. Applications include medical instruments, routers, telematics, process control, air-traffic control, automotive, robotics, rail, and aerospace and defense. Pricing is on request.
