Pyzo
What it is
Pyzo is a free, open-source Python IDE centered on interactive and simple programming. It provides an editor, shell and programmer tools for learning, science, data analysis and application development. The IDE uses Python interpreters installed on the computer, including Conda environments, so both Pyzo and a Python environment are required. Code can run from the shell, as a selection or cell, or as the current or main file. Editor features include auto-indentation, syntax highlighting, regular-expression search and replacement, and debugging breakpoints. Session- and source-based completion, function call tips and interactive help assist coding. Multiple shells can run simultaneously, including shells tied to different Python versions; each runs in a subprocess that can be interrupted or killed. The shell supports PySide, PyQt4, Tk, wx, fltk and GTK, plus pip or conda package management. Built-in tools include a file browser, source structure view, workspace and logger. Pyzo runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, with several Linux installation options.
