PULSE
What it is
PULSE is a Windows game performance optimizer that monitors hardware and tunes system settings. Its free plan includes real-time CPU, GPU, and RAM monitoring, system information, session history, and FPS and frametime readings through a separately installed RTSS; no account is required. Pro adds GPU overclocking, CPU tuning, more than 90 persistent tweaks, Live Tune, network tools, per-game profiles, a crosshair overlay, and display controls. Network tools include per-app firewall rules, game-traffic QoS, a DNS benchmark, and game-server ping. The maker reports 15–45% more FPS in many CPU-bound games, with results varying by game and hardware and smaller gains for GPU-bound titles. PULSE supports NVIDIA GTX 900 series and newer and AMD RX 400 series and newer, including RDNA 4; Intel Arc is monitored only. It records changed settings in JSON snapshots and says one click restores originals. The software requires 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11, administrator rights for system tweaks, and uses under 50 MB RAM at idle.
For and against
For
- Free monitoring plan
- Per-game profiles and overlay
- Network diagnostics and traffic controls
- JSON snapshots for restoration
- Supports modern NVIDIA and AMD GPUs
Against
- FPS readings require separate RTSS installation
- System tweaks require administrator rights
- Intel Arc is monitoring-only
- Installer is currently unsigned
The verdict
PULSE offers a no-account monitoring tier and a broader Pro tuning suite for Windows gaming systems. External tool requirements, hardware coverage, and the unsigned installer should factor into setup decisions.
Who it suits
It suits Windows players who want hardware monitoring, per-game tuning, network tools, or reversible system adjustments.
