What it is
Polaris is an IEP development tool for planning, writing, and monitoring individualized education programs. It uses assessment data and generative AI to help draft present levels, standards-aligned SMART goals, and instructional recommendations. Embedded assessment results flow into IEPs and appear in charts showing student strengths and needs. Based on a student profile, Polaris can recommend accommodations and modifications. Progress charts update as teachers enter data, with alerts when a team may be off track. Connections include Unique Learning System, Inspire, and Positivity. A Chrome and Edge extension opens a side panel in supported IEP, Medicaid, SIS, and 504 portals and transfers information into systems and web forms. Polaris works alongside, rather than replacing, a district’s official IEP system. Before external AI processing, uploaded information is anonymized. Everway cites encryption, access controls, multifactor authentication, compliance certifications, help articles, webinars, and training.
