Plient
Austin, Texas, United States
What it is
Plient is a file storage and collaboration service that encrypts files on the user's device before upload with AES-256-GCM. Its zero-knowledge key model derives a master key from a password and salt on that device; the key is not sent to the server. Users can organize work in shared drives, set granular permissions, send password-protected links with expiry, and collect files through requests. Browser editing supports .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files, with real-time co-authoring, comments, suggestions, and version history. Plient also provides WebDAV mounting on macOS, Windows, and Linux, plus a CLI for scripted uploads, downloads, syncing, and management. The marketplace lists Google Workspace, OnlyOffice, iDrive E2, Backblaze B2, and AWS S3. It is available as managed cloud software or can be self-hosted with Docker, across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. The Free plan is free, billed forever, and includes 5 GB for one user. Pro is $9 a month; Business is $25 per user / month.
