Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Logging
What it is
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Logging is a managed service for ingesting, searching, analyzing, exporting, and acting on logs. It handles audit logs, OCI service logs, and custom application logs, including logs from OCI instances, Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes, on-premises environments, and other cloud providers. SQL-like search, filtering, aggregation, visualization, and structured parsing help users work across infrastructure, application, audit, and database logs. Logs can be organized into pipelines and routed through Connector Hub to Monitoring, Notifications, Streaming, third-party destinations such as Splunk, or Object Storage. Exporting to Object Storage can provide indefinite retention. The service is accessible through the OCI console, SDK, command-line interface, REST API, and Terraform. It uses the Fluentd agent for ingestion and normalizes events to CloudEvents 1.0. Access is controlled by log groups and Oracle Identity and Access Management policies; unauthorized requests are denied and audited. The Always Free tier includes the first 10 GB of log storage each month, with ingestion and search free. Pay-as-you-go storage costs $0.05 per GB stored per month; ingestion and search are free.
