OpenDesign
What it is
OpenDesign is an open-source AI design workspace that uses local coding agents to make runnable files for prototypes, web pages, slide decks, dashboards, brand systems, images, and HTML video. It lists 152+ design systems and a template and skill library. The workspace supports 17 first-party bring-your-own-key adapters, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenCode, and Qwen. Its API can also be used with Codex, Claude Code, DSH, OpenCode, and Hermes through an OpenDesign API key. The desktop app, daemon, and skill runtime run on the user's machine, with generated files stored in the project directory. OpenDesign says it has no server of its own and sends only prompts and skill context to the provider associated with keys the user supplies. Its Apache-2.0 code can be forked and self-hosted. The desktop app supports macOS 11 or newer on Apple Silicon or Intel, and Windows 10 or 11 x64. The free plan is local CLI plus BYOK, with no recurring OpenDesign model-credit grant; paid plans start at $5/user/mo. Unused credits do not roll over between billing cycles.
