NetApp Disaster Recovery
San Jose, California, United States
What it is
NetApp Disaster Recovery is a web-based disaster recovery service for VMware virtual machines and Kubernetes clusters. It coordinates replication, failover, failback, recovery runbooks, and scheduled backups between source and recovery sites. NetApp ONTAP SnapMirror creates application-consistent Snapshot copies that are usable after failover; asynchronous replication can support a recovery point objective as low as five minutes. Frequent nondisruptive failover tests use temporary virtual machines and FlexClone volumes. VMware recovery can target on-premises systems, Google Cloud VMware Engine, or Amazon Elastic VMware Service. Kubernetes recovery supports on-premises NFS, iSCSI, or Fibre Channel, plus on-premises-to-AWS recovery using NFS or iSCSI. Integrations include VMware Cloud on AWS with Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP and Google Cloud VMware Engine with Google Cloud NetApp Volumes. The service runs in NetApp Console with a Console agent and secure HTTPS proxy connectivity. Licensing uses protected source-volume capacity.
