Narrative Select

What it is
Narrative Select is AI-assisted photo culling and editing software for photographers, available on macOS and Windows. Its AI detects faces, evaluates focus and eye state, and considers whether another frame in a scene may be stronger, then ranks images while the photographer makes final selections. Scenes View organizes shoots into scenes, the Close-ups Panel helps inspect expressions, and People Filter can identify named faces and filter images by person. Supported formats include CR2, CR3, NEF, DNG, RAW, JPG, HEIC, and HEIF. The software offers one-click workflows with Lightroom Classic, Lightroom CC, Photoshop, and Capture One, with Capture One support listed for Mac. The maker says thousands of RAW files can be imported in seconds, with unlimited projects and images. Culling is local and works offline. Paid plans are billed annually and start at $10 a month.
