What it is
MobaXterm is a Windows application that combines remote-computing tools and Unix commands for people working with remote systems. It supports sessions over SSH, Telnet, Rlogin, RDP, VNC, XDMCP, FTP, SFTP, Mosh, Serial, and other listed protocols. Its embedded X server supports OpenGL and extensions for running remote graphical applications on Windows. SSH sessions can open a graphical SFTP browser for file transfers, and the session manager can route a connection through an SSH gateway before it reaches an end server. The terminal includes Unix commands, with additional tools available through downloadable plugins or MobApt. MobaXterm is offered as a single executable that can run from a USB stick without admin rights. The Home Edition is free, with limits of 12 sessions, two SSH tunnels, and four macros. The Professional Edition costs $69 per user per year; first-year updates are included and renewal is optional.
