Minecraft Bedrock Debugger
What it is
Minecraft Bedrock Debugger is a free, open-source Visual Studio Code extension for debugging JavaScript running in Minecraft Bedrock clients and Bedrock Dedicated Server. Developers can set breakpoints, step through code, inspect locals, and watch selected values. The extension runs Minecraft slash commands and provides shortcuts for favorite commands. Performance tools include diagnostics and a script profiler that saves captures to a configured local path. Minecraft 1.21.10 or later can provide server statistics for entities, chunks, memory, tick time, and network usage. Client diagnostics include FPS, memory, entity systems, and CPU profiling, but require the “Enabled client diagnostics” creator setting. Scripts can add custom live diagnostics through @minecraft/debug-utilities. TypeScript projects can configure source maps with sourceMapRoot and generatedSourceRoot. It connects through script debugger commands on port 19144 by default and is available for Windows through the Visual Studio Marketplace.
