What it is
Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage service for keeping files and media available across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices. It can back up files, photos, videos, apps and settings, with offline access and changes that update across devices. The free plan includes 5 GB of cloud storage; Microsoft 365 Basic lists 100 GB for $1.99 a month, billed annually at $19.99. Personal storage provides 1 TB, while Family plans offer up to 6 TB shared among as many as six people. The mobile app can scan documents into cloud storage, and Personal Vault adds identity-verified protection for selected files. Other listed protections include detection of suspicious activity, file recovery support and end-to-end encryption. OneDrive integrates with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams and SharePoint. Copilot can summarize files, answer questions about them and compare them. Business plans include 1 TB per user and identity and access management for up to 300 users.
