Metering Cockpit
Ludwigshafen, Germany
What it is
Metering Cockpit is a free loudness metering plug-in for mixing and mastering on macOS and Windows. It presents loudness, peak level, dynamics, spectrum, stereo correlation, waveform, and loudness history views. Loudness follows BS.1770-4, while loudness range uses EBU R128. Its fractional-octave analyzer can be set from 1/1 through 1/24 octave and can display raw FFT bins. You can load a reference file, compare it with your mix, and set the reference listening level independently. The plug-in adds no latency and leaves audio unchanged unless you solo a frequency band or play the reference. It works in hosts that load VST3 or AU. macOS offers VST3 and AU formats; Windows offers VST3. Requirements are macOS 11 or newer, or 64-bit Windows 10 or newer. Reference files are limited to ten minutes. The software is free for private and commercial use without registration or a time limit.
