LumaRead
What it is
LumaRead is a web speed-reading app built around rapid serial visual presentation, or RSVP, which shows one word at a time. It accepts PDF and DOCX uploads and includes a free reading-speed test that measures words per minute. The reader removes headers, footers, and page numbers, anchors words at an optical center point, and uses punctuation-aware pacing with an adjustable words-per-minute setting. The free plan allows 1,500 words per day, one library book, speeds up to 600 WPM, and saved reading progress. The Monthly plan costs $3.99 a month and allows 10 books, speeds up to 900 WPM, unlimited reading, saved progress, and reading statistics. The Yearly plan costs $39.99 a year and adds an unlimited library, custom speeds up to 1,500 WPM, statistics, streaks, and priority support. Login, library synchronization, and session statistics require a connection, although a loaded book can continue during an active session. LumaRead can be installed as a PWA on mobile or desktop.
