LlamaIndex
What it is
LlamaIndex helps developers and enterprises process documents and build AI workflows around them. Its LlamaParse service handles more than 50 kinds of unstructured files, including those with embedded images, complex layouts, multi-page tables, and handwritten notes. Schema-based extraction agents use language models to turn unstructured content into structured insights without training. Workflows can divide documents into logical sections and classify them using natural-language descriptions and rules. For retrieval-augmented generation workflows, LlamaParse provides chunking and embedding pipelines for indexing and retrieval. Community integrations cover data loaders, agent tools, language models, vector stores, observability, and application frameworks. LlamaCloud connectors currently support Google Drive, SharePoint, S3, and Confluence; OneDrive, Azure Blob Storage, Box, Notion, Slack, and Jira are listed as coming soon. Free and Starter plans allow five concurrent parsing, extraction, classification, and splitting jobs; Pro allows 20, and Enterprise 100. LlamaParse is a commercial platform, while LlamaIndex and Workflows are open-source projects. Starter costs $50 a month; a free plan is also listed.
