Kickresume

Overview

Kickresume brings resume and cover-letter building together with AI writing, ATS checking and career suggestions. It is a stronger fit for applicants who want help beyond document formatting than for those who only need a basic resume file. Its free tier is useful for creating and downloading documents, but the small template selection makes it less flexible visually.

Key features

Writing and templates

The AI Writer can draft a resume from a job title and the job ad being answered, giving applicants a tailored starting point rather than a blank page. The free plan has four basic resume templates and four matching cover-letter templates; Premium expands both collections to more than 40 and adds seven personal website templates. That is a meaningful upgrade for people who want more choice across applications, while the free selection may be adequate for a straightforward job search.

ATS and career guidance

The ATS Resume Checker helps optimize a resume for applicant tracking systems and compares it with successful resumes in Kickresume’s database. Career Map scans a resume and suggests career paths based on the user’s skills and experience. These tools make Kickresume more than a layout editor, although applicants who only need a finished document may not get enough from them to justify Premium.

Imports, exports and mobile

Premium includes LinkedIn and PDF import, which can reduce the work of starting a resume from scratch. Documents can be saved to Dropbox or Google Drive; downloads are unlimited on Free, with PDF, Word text export and email among the available options. The iOS and Android apps sync documents with desktop through the cloud, a practical advantage for users who switch devices.

Privacy and support

Kickresume says it does not share user data with third parties unless users give permission. It is based in the EU and hosts data in the European Union, citing GDPR protections, and says its infrastructure receives regular penetration testing from an unnamed IT security company. Paid plans add priority email and chat support.

Pricing

Kickresume is freemium, with no free trial. Free costs 0.00 USD per free and includes four resume templates, four matching cover-letter templates, one basic website template, 20,000 pre-written phrases, more than 1,500 resume examples and unlimited downloads. The download allowance is generous, but the four-template limit is the main constraint.

Premium costs 24.00 USD per month when billed monthly, 18.00 USD per month with Pay $54 every 3 months, or 8.00 USD per month with Pay $96 every 12 months. Each option includes more than 40 resume and cover-letter templates and seven website templates. Premium plans also include AI Writer, ATS Resume Checker, Career Map, LinkedIn and PDF import, iOS and Android access, and priority email and chat support. The yearly term has the lowest monthly equivalent, but requires the largest upfront payment; monthly billing costs more for flexibility.

Grammar Correction is a separate 30.00 USD per once, billed $30 per resume. Professional human proofreaders correct typos, grammar and word order, with the work ready in two work days or less. Students and teachers can get Premium free after verifying status with ISIC, ITIC or UNiDAYS.

Platforms

Kickresume is available on web, Android and iOS. Its mobile resume builder syncs documents with desktop through the cloud, and the Premium plans include mobile access.

Who it's for

Kickresume suits job seekers who want resume and cover-letter creation, job-ad-based AI drafting, ATS feedback and career suggestions in one service. Free is a reasonable starting point for applicants content with four basic templates and unlimited downloads. Premium is better for people who need more template choice, imports or the added writing and career tools. Those seeking only a simple downloadable resume may not need the paid features.

Pros and cons

• Pro: Free includes unlimited downloads, so users can create and export documents without paying just to retrieve them.
• Pro: The AI Writer, ATS checker and Career Map cover drafting, resume review and career direction in one toolkit.
• Pro: Premium adds LinkedIn and PDF imports, plus cloud-synced mobile apps, for users who move between devices or existing resume sources.
• Con: Free limits users to four basic resume and four cover-letter templates, which may feel restrictive for applicants seeking a distinct look.
• Con: The lowest monthly equivalent requires paying $96 every 12 months upfront; monthly Premium is 24.00 USD per month.

Alternatives

For a narrower focus on ATS-oriented resume writing, Rezi is another freemium option, with a free plan limited to one resume, one AI interview and three PDF downloads. MyPerfectResume offers a free plan and a 14-day trial, while Resume Genius has a free tier with TXT-only resume downloads and a 14-day trial.

TailorJob is worth considering for its monthly $1 in free AI credits and GitHub and LinkedIn import. CakeResume offers 60 Cake AI credits per month and one resume on Free. Huntr may suit applicants who also want to track up to 100 jobs, with two job-tailored resumes on its always-free plan.

Jobscan is another freemium choice with limited free resume scans. Resume.io offers a seven-day trial. Readers comparing broader options can browse AI Resume Builders, Cover Letter Software, Resume Design Software, Resume Builders and AI Cover Letter Generators.

Verdict

Kickresume is a good choice for job seekers who want resume and cover-letter creation plus AI drafting, ATS review and career suggestions under one roof. Its unlimited free downloads make the free tier practical, but applicants who need more than four basic templates or want imports and the full toolset should expect to pay. Look elsewhere if document creation alone is enough and a narrow template selection is not acceptable.
