What it is
Just (Video) Player is a free Android video player based on Media3, formerly ExoPlayer, and is compatible with Android 6+ and Android TV. It handles numerous video and audio codecs, streaming formats such as DASH, HLS, SmoothStreaming, and RTSP, plus subtitles including SRT, SSA/ASS, TTML, VTT, and DVB. Playback controls include track selection, speed adjustment, gesture seeking, brightness and volume gestures, pinch zoom, picture-in-picture, fit or crop sizing, and volume boost. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision playback are available on compatible hardware, and Android TV and boxes support automatic frame-rate matching. The player is designed to synchronize audio and video with Bluetooth earphones or speakers. It does not supply content, playing only media provided by the user. Remote storage can be accessed through Android Document Providers or a file explorer, but Document Providers are not supported on Android TV. The project says it has no ads, tracking, or excessive permissions.
