Juno
London, United Kingdom
What it is
Juno is a native Python development environment for iPad and iPhone that runs scripts and Jupyter notebooks locally. Its built-in Python 3.13 interpreter supports offline development. Users can work with notebooks, standalone scripts, project folders and interactive REPL sessions. Juno includes more than 130 pre-installed packages, including NumPy, SciPy, pandas, Scikit-learn, Polars and DuckDB. Its package manager installs most pure-Python packages from PyPI, while packages requiring compiled extensions may not install unless bundled with the app. An optional AI coding assistant can answer questions, generate code and apply reviewed changes across notebooks, scripts and projects. It uses the user’s API key and sends requests directly from the device to OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini. Juno integrates with Apple Files and supports Dark Mode, Dynamic Type, split screen, multiple windows, Magic Keyboard and trackpad. Workspace data stays locally, and Juno does not provide accounts or cloud storage. The standard edition sends product usage events to TelemetryDeck and Firebase Analytics and uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports. Known limits include no multiple environments, arbitrary notebook extensions or additional Jupyter kernels.
