What it is
GrabPay Wallet is a topped-up e-money wallet for payments, fund transfers, and rewards. Users can pay for Grab services, bills, and online shopping, or scan a merchant QR code to pay in stores. A credit or debit card is not required to add funds; users can top up with PayNow. The wallet supports instant transfers that users can send or request without fees, and provides payment notifications and a detailed transaction history. Grab says users can earn up to 0.5% back in GrabRewards points for every dollar spent with GrabPay Wallet. The free wallet is available on Android and iOS. Grab says it uses a 24/7 fraud detection engine, is PCI DSS level 1 compliant, and protects access with a Grab PIN, plus fingerprint authentication on Android and Face ID on iOS. Its balance is held in a dedicated customer account with United Overseas Bank. GrabPay is regulated by Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore, and identity verification is required. Full verification raises the wallet balance limit from SGD$1,000 to $5,000; wallet and transaction limits apply.
