Google Search Console
What it is
Google Search Console helps site owners monitor and maintain their site's presence in Google Search, troubleshoot issues, and understand search traffic. It reports whether Google can find and crawl a site, helps address indexing problems, and supports requests to re-index new or updated content. The Performance report shows clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position, grouped by queries, pages, countries, devices, search appearance, or dates. URL Inspection provides crawl, index, and serving details from Google's index. Alerts flag indexing, spam, and other site issues, and the service shows which sites link to a website. Reports can also monitor AMP pages, mobile and desktop Core Web Vitals, and structured-data rich results. Its API supports property management, testing, performance and sitemap data downloads, filtering, sorting, and aggregation. API use is subject to a quota; performance data is limited to 50K rows per day per type per property. Search Console is free and available on the web and through an API. It requires a valid Google account and a recent Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari browser with cookies and JavaScript enabled.
