GMClean
What it is
GMClean is a free, self-hosted web tool for reviewing inboxes, classifying email, unsubscribing, deleting messages, and exporting data. It scans message headers such as sender, subject, and List-Unsubscribe information without downloading email bodies. The tool supports up to 10 Gmail, Outlook, or custom IMAP mailboxes at once and can scan INBOX, Spam, Promotions, Trash, and other IMAP folders. Analysis includes a 0–100 inbox health score based on five weighted factors, sender insights, and email age distribution. Classification uses heuristic rules, with optional Gemini assistance for ambiguous cases. Users can unsubscribe in one click or in bulk; bulk deletion is processed in batches of 500 messages. Exports include selected subscriptions with resubscribe links and scanned emails in CSV format. GMClean stores data in browser IndexedDB, and the project says it has no cloud database or telemetry. Credentials are encrypted before storage, and setup requires an ENCRYPTION_SECRET described as an AES-256 key. The project documents deployment with npm, Docker, or Docker Compose. Its MIT-licensed plan is free.
