Folius
What it is
Folius is a browser-based tool for formatting books for print and ebook. Writers can draft in its editor or import a Word document, then review and adjust detected chapter splits. Themes and controls cover type, spacing, chapter openings, headings, and running matter. For print, users can set trim size, type size, margins, bleed, edges, and crop marks, and view a paginated preview. Listed export formats include print and screen PDFs, EPUB, static HTML, Markdown, and a Folius backup. The free plan includes unlimited books and chapters, browser editing, Word import, live print preview, and EPUB, Markdown, and backup exports. Membership is listed at $99 a year, billed annually at $8.25 per month; it adds print and screen PDFs, hosted images and cover uploads, static HTML export, collaboration, and public read-only sharing. Paid members can invite editors without requiring them to hold memberships. Membership is personal, not an organization-wide licence, and collaboration is for books the member owns, commissions, manages, or publishes. Users retain ownership of their content.

Folius covers manuscript editing, print layout, and ebook formatting in a browser, with several exports available on the free plan. Membership adds PDF exports and collaboration, but is personal rather than organization-wide.
