Devilbox
What it is
Devilbox is a free, Dockerized LAMP and MEAN stack for local development on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with self-hosted and web use listed. It supports an unlimited number of projects: adding a project directory automatically creates a virtual host without restarting services. New projects receive SSL certificates signed by Devilbox’s certificate authority, while a built-in wildcard DNS server makes project addresses available to the host system. The stack can run Apache or Nginx with PHP and add MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Memcached, or MongoDB. Settings can be configured globally, by service version, or per project. Its intranet bundles phpMyAdmin, phpPgAdmin, phpRedMin, Adminer, OpcacheGui, and an email viewer. Project email is intercepted and stored locally for review. After required Docker images are pulled once, Devilbox can operate offline. Documentation says official images are built nightly and pushed to Docker Hub with available security patches.
