CorePin
What it is
CorePin is a free CPU optimization utility for games on Windows 10 and 11. It lets you configure CPU core placement, scheduling, process priority, power behavior, and background workloads for individual games. The software detects processor topology and offers V-Cache, frequency, hybrid-core, cache-group, no-SMT, and manual profiles. Its Windows service watches for configured game processes, applies saved settings at launch, then restores temporary changes after the game exits. The library can discover games from Steam, Xbox app/Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, GOG Galaxy, EA app, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, Amazon Games App, and Meta PC VR. Supported VR companion placement and OpenXR launch behavior are also available. CorePin can record FPS, frame times, CPU/GPU behavior, memory, storage, and available hardware telemetry, and its System Benchmark has Quick, Full, and Demo modes. It runs locally without an account or usage telemetry, though the interface may make outbound HTTPS requests. The free plan is free. Performance improvements are not guaranteed, and results vary with the game and system.
For and against
For
- Applies saved CPU settings when configured games launch.
- Discovers games across multiple launchers.
- Records gameplay metrics and offers three benchmark modes.
- Runs locally without an account or usage telemetry.
Against
- Supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 only.
- Performance improvements are not guaranteed.
- Support response times and release schedules are not guaranteed.
- Standalone ZIP requires the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime separately.
The verdict
CorePin combines per-game CPU controls with process monitoring, gameplay reporting, and repeatable benchmarks. Consider its Windows-only scope, setup requirements, and lack of guaranteed performance gains or support timelines.
Who it suits
CorePin suits Windows gamers who want to configure CPU behavior separately for games and review gameplay or benchmark metrics. It is also relevant to users with supported VR setups.
