Clipy
What it is
Clipy is a free, open-source clipboard extension for macOS. It keeps clipboard history locally and lets users open that history with a keyboard shortcut, then choose a previously copied item. A separate snippets menu provides saved snippets. Default shortcuts are Shift-Command-V for the main menu, Control-Command-V for history, and Shift-Command-B for snippets. Clipy supports clipboard formats including plain text and images, requires macOS 13 Ventura or later, and is distributed under the MIT license. Clipboard history, snippets, preferences, and related data remain on the Mac. Clipy says copied text, images, snippets, and other contents are not sent to its servers or third parties. Sparkle update checks and Firebase analytics and crash reporting are listed network communications. Analytics and crash reporting are enabled by default but can be disabled in Preferences. Clipy does not claim local history encryption. The 1.3.0 release supports Apple Silicon and includes a database migration.
