Cisco Modeling Labs
What it is
Cisco Modeling Labs is a network modeling environment for Linux, macOS, Windows, and the web. It lets users run Cisco network nodes in a modeled lab, with plan options for individual practice, education, enterprise use, and a cloud proof of concept. The CML-Free plan costs nothing and allows five running nodes. Personal supports 20 Cisco nodes for one user, while Personal Plus supports 40 Cisco nodes for one user. Enterprise includes 20 Cisco nodes and permits up to 300 additional nodes. Education is for educational and nonprofit learning institutions, with concurrent-user licensing, community and TAC support, and clustering. The CML Cloud Phase 1 PoC lists four vCPUs, 16 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, and 30-day access. Deployment is server-based, and an automation API is available. Hardware-in-the-loop is not supported.

The verdict
Cisco Modeling Labs offers a free entry point and plans that scale from personal labs to education and enterprise deployments. Its broad platform coverage and automation API are useful, but hardware-in-the-loop is unavailable and many prices require further inquiry.
Who it suits
It suits network learners, individual users, educational institutions, and organizations modeling Cisco environments. It also fits teams that need server deployment or automation through an API.
