Charios
What it is
Charios is a browser-based tool for animating 2D character art with motion-capture clips. It can detect separate alpha regions in an image and turn them into transparent body-part layers for rigging. Characters are assigned to a fixed 17-bone humanoid skeleton. You can retarget bundled motion clips or bring .bvh and .fbx files, then review nine clips at once in the 3×3 animation grid. Exports include animated GIFs, PNG sequences, JSON, Unity prefabs, Godot scenes and Unreal Engine actors. Files are bundled and downloaded in the browser; Charios says character art stays in the browser during export. The editor needs a modern desktop browser with WebGL 2; mobile supports project viewing and animation previews. The Free plan allows three active projects, 30 credits per month and 13 bundled clips. Pro costs $20 per month and Studio costs $45 per seat per month. A $50 one-time Lifetime plan is also listed.
