What it is
BHIM is a free UPI payment app for Android and iOS that supports direct bank payments and payment requests. Users can send money with a UPI ID, a mobile number registered with UPI, or an account number and IFSC code, and can link up to five bank accounts. The service is described as available 24x7. The FAQ sets a limit of Rs 40,000 per transaction and per day for each linked account; new users have a Rs 5,000 limit during their first 24 hours. BHIM Bill Pay covers electricity, gas, DTH, telecom, loan EMI, insurance, water, FASTag, cable TV, and education bills when the bank is enabled on Bharat Bill Pay.
