Zynaptiq UNVEIL is a real-time de-mixing plug-in for changing reverb and other less perceptually important components in mixed audio. It can reduce or increase reverb, alter reverb characteristics, and lower components described as “mud” to bring recording details forward; those elements can also be added back. Processing works with mono sources and channel counts up to the surround formats supported by a user’s DAW. UNVEIL uses Zynaptiq’s proprietary, artificial intelligence-based MAP technology. The 64-bit plug-in runs on macOS 10.15 or newer and Windows 10 or newer. Formats include AU, AAX Native, VST 2.4, and VST 3 on macOS, plus AAX Native, VST 2.4, and VST 3 on Windows. A compatible 64-bit host processing 32-bit float audio and a two-core CPU are required. The latest listed version is 1.9.0 with native Apple Silicon support for listed formats. Activation needs a free iLok.com account and internet-connected computer, or an optional iLok 2-or-newer USB device. A fully functional 30-day trial is available; the license costs $269 once.
