ZSvirt
What it is
ZSvirt is a free, open-source, self-hosted virtualization platform based on ZStack’s ZSphere engine. It uses KVM and provides live migration, high availability, disaster recovery, and API access. The site says one control plane can manage 10,000+ hosts and virtual machines with up to 768 vCPUs. ZMigrate supports agentless VMware migration through full-disk replication, incremental synchronization, and cutover in as little as five minutes. Listed security controls include a Native Key Provider, VM SecureBoot, vTPM 2.0, VM encryption, security groups, MFA/2FA, and immutable audit logs. Integrations include Go, Python, and Java SDKs, native Terraform providers, GitOps, and more than 2,000 REST/OpenAPI endpoints. Compatibility listings include distributed storage integrations, SAN, the KVM ecosystem, VMDK, and mainstream hardware and guest operating systems. The ZSvirt Open Source plan costs nothing, has no license fee or VM limit, and comes with community support.
