VMProtect
What it is
VMProtect protects software code against reverse engineering, analysis, and cracking. It converts selected code into instructions for embedded virtual machines that run without additional libraries or modules in the protected application. Protection methods include virtualization, mutation, or both together. Additional controls cover virtual files, packing, debugger detection, virtualization-tool detection, memory protection, and removal of debug information. VMProtect supports x86, x86_64, and ARM64 binaries, plus .NET assemblies built with C/C++, C#/VB .NET, Rust, and Golang. Supported formats include PE, Mach-O, ELF, and .NET assemblies across Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android. Its licensing system uses RSA-based asymmetric cryptography for serial-number creation and verification. Online trial activation can create time-limited serial numbers without storing information on the user’s computer. Editions are Lite, Professional, and Ultimate. Lite Personal is $399, paid once, and Professional Personal is $599, paid once. Updates Renewal (Personal) is $199 a year. A free trial is available, but there is no free plan.
