Viastaro Soundbath

Viastaro Soundbath is an iOS app that creates layered soundscapes for meditation, focus, or sleep. It combines real instrument recordings into a new soundbath each time, with binaural sounds spread across the stereo field and slowly moving around the listener. Two dials control how many instruments play at once and how spacious and slow the sound feels. The app describes 31 instruments, including gongs, singing bowls, bells, chimes, drums, kalimba, and rain sticks. Playback continues with the phone locked, with controls on the lock screen and in Control Centre. The free plan includes ads. Premium removes ads and adds a live radial editor and timeline for changing instrument combinations during playback, along with audio export in MP3, M4A, WAV, or AIFF formats. Premium also allows saved arrangements and instrument positions to be reloaded later. Monthly Premium costs £0.99 per month; yearly Premium costs £7.99 per year. Premium is included with a Viastaro subscription for people who download the app and sign in. Soundbath requires iOS 16 or later and supports 15 languages.

Soundbath offers adjustable, layered instrument playback, with editing, exports, and saved arrangements in Premium. Consider the ad-supported free plan or the listed monthly and yearly subscriptions, and check the iOS requirement.

Soundbath suits iPhone and iPad users looking for adjustable instrument soundscapes for meditation, focus, or sleep. Premium’s editing and export tools may appeal to listeners who want to save and share their arrangements.

Viastaro Soundbath creates layered meditation, focus, and sleep soundscapes from recordings of real instruments. It is a strong fit for listeners who want to steer an ambient mix without composing every part themselves, while Premium suits people who want to edit, save, or export those mixes. The free version keeps the core listening experience accessible, but ads and iOS-only support narrow its appeal for some users.

Overview

Soundbath generates a fresh combination of instrument recordings each time, using binaural layers and adaptive generation to produce an evolving soundscape. Two controls determine how many instruments can play simultaneously and how spacious and slow the result feels. This is an effective middle ground between a fixed background track and a full music-production tool: you can change the atmosphere quickly, but detailed control over individual parts belongs to Premium.

Key features

The sound palette covers 31 real instruments, including gongs, singing bowls, bells, chimes, drums, kalimba, and rain sticks. Instruments are distributed across the stereo field and drift slowly around the listener, adding movement that can make a meditation or sleep bed feel less static. Because the generation is layered rather than presented as a conventional song, it is better suited to sustained ambience than to listeners seeking a defined melody or song structure.

Playback continues while the phone is locked, with controls on the lock screen and in Control Centre. That makes it practical for sleep sessions, meditation, or focus work without keeping Soundbath onscreen. Support for 15 languages, following the device language or an in-app choice, broadens usability for multilingual households.

Premium's live radial editor and timeline let you add, remove, and pair instruments during playback. You can arrange instrument positions, save favorite setups and soundbaths, and reload them later. Export to MP3, M4A, WAV, or AIFF turns a one-off generated session into a shareable file. These capabilities are meaningful for repeatable routines and personal audio libraries; casual listeners who only press play may gain little from paying for them.

Pricing

The free plan is the sensible starting point for uninterrupted? No: it includes ads, so it suits people willing to trade presentation for no cost. At £0.99 per month, Monthly is inexpensive for users who want Premium tools briefly or prefer a lower commitment. Yearly costs £7.99 per year and is the better fit for regular use, provided you expect to keep the editor, exports, and saved arrangements throughout the year. App Store Premium subscriptions renew yearly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, so review renewal settings before the period closes. Premium is also included at no extra charge with a Viastaro subscription after downloading Soundbath and signing in to a Viastaro account.

Platforms

Soundbath is an iPhone and iPad app requiring iOS 16 or later. There is no Android, desktop, or web version, making Apple hardware a firm prerequisite.

Who it's for

Choose Soundbath if you want adaptive instrumental ambience for meditation, concentration, or sleep and value quick mood controls over manual composition. Premium is aimed at listeners who build recurring sound routines, need a specific instrument mix, or want downloadable files. It is a weaker choice for Android users, people who need cross-platform access, or anyone who wants a completely ad-free experience without subscribing.

Pros and cons

Pros

• Adjustable atmosphere: Two dials provide immediate control over density, spaciousness, and pace without requiring production skills.
• Distinctive instrument palette: 31 recorded instruments and drifting stereo placement create more variation than a single static loop.
• Useful Premium workflow: Live editing, saved arrangements, and four export formats support repeatable sessions and sharing.
• Low entry price: Monthly Premium is £0.99, while the free plan permits no-cost access.

Cons

• Ads on Free: The zero-cost tier is less suitable for uninterrupted meditation or sleep listening.
• iOS restriction: iOS 16 or later and Apple hardware exclude Android, web, and desktop users.
• Subscription renewal: App Store billing renews yearly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before expiry.
• Basic controls without Premium: Listeners wanting precise instrument editing, saved setups, or files must upgrade.
