Vaulty
Mesa, Arizona, United States
What it is
Vaulty is an Android private gallery app that protects photos and videos behind a PIN or password. Users can create separate named vaults, hide media directly from the gallery, and batch-hide multiple files. If someone enters an incorrect password, Vaulty can capture a photo with the device’s front camera. Albums, an in-app media player, zoom, and slideshow viewing help users organize and view stored media. Vaulty offers automatic backups to the user’s Google Drive account and can restore media after a device switch or reset; the maker says it does not keep those backups on its own servers. Its privacy policy says it cannot access concealed content, while Google Drive backups are subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy. The policy also says Vaulty may collect device and operating-system details, general location based on IP, and information provided to support. The Free plan is free and includes ads and automatic Google Drive backup. Vaulty is available on Android; the maker says iOS is coming soon.
