Transparent Background
What it is
Transparent Background is a free, open-source Python package for removing backgrounds from images and videos with InSPyReNet. Its command-line interface accepts individual files, folders, videos, video folders, and webcam addresses. A Python API and optional graphical interface provide other ways to use it. Outputs can include transparent RGBA images, saliency maps, green or white backgrounds, blurred or overlaid backgrounds, and composites made with another image. Model choices are base, fast, and base-nightly, with support for a custom checkpoint. Static resizing is the default and is described as more stable but less detailed; dynamic resizing may sharpen edges while being less stable. The package supports batch processing and PNG, JPG/JPEG, and MP4 inputs. It can be installed from PyPI, GitHub, or a local clone, with CPU-only and GPU setup guidance. Video and webcam inputs cannot produce RGBA output.
