Trace-X

What it is

Trace-X is an open-source system for tracking parts through supply chains, intended for companies from SMEs to large OEMs. It can ingest data for serialized parts, batches, and child components. Users can search and filter manufactured parts represented by BoM AsBuilt and planned parts represented by BoM AsPlanned. Records include Asset Administration Shell descriptions and submodels for serial parts, batches, just-in-sequence processes, and planned and built bills of material and usage. A parts tree displays component relationships, while supplier-network and supply-chain views show connections across companies. Quality workflows support investigations exchanged between a company and supplier, as well as alerts sent from a company to customers. The project aims to support standardized, interoperable, data-sovereign traceability exchange within Catena-X, with access defined for participating companies and people. The browser frontend uses Angular and serves static files through NGINX. REST endpoints are documented with the OpenAPI Specification, and the project provides a Swagger UI path. Installation is documented using a Helm chart. The local umbrella setup does not include sending and receiving quality notifications, which requires another Trace-X instance.
