Thunderstore
What it is
Thunderstore is a mod database and API where developers can upload mods and mod managers can download them. Its catalog lists over 110,000 mods across 300+ games. For supported games, Thunderstore Mod Manager installs, updates, and manages mods, with features for profiles, profile export, direct downloads and installs, outdated-mod updates, and configuration editing. The site directs users to download the manager for Windows; the app is powered by the Overwolf Client, which is installed during download. Developers can find API and package-format documentation, a manifest validator, and a Markdown preview tool. Thunderstore offers a free plan. Its privacy notice says nonessential cookies are used only with consent and technical and usage data is retained for up to 30 days, subject to legal or claims-related exceptions. It names Discord, GitHub, and Overwolf as authentication providers, and says associated GitHub or Discord details are not made public unless users request publication. Discord is the support channel for users and developers.
