Sober
What it is
Sober is an unofficial runtime that lets Linux desktop users run Roblox by bridging its Android version to Linux through a specialized environment for Roblox code. It is distributed as a Flatpak through Flathub and is free. The project says performance on the same machine can match or exceed the native Windows client. Graphics options include Vulkan and an OpenGL mode that can serve as a workaround for some graphics issues. Settings include gamepad support, graphics quality, server location indicators, touchscreen mode, and Discord Rich Presence. Documented minimums are Linux kernel 5.11 or newer, an x86-64/AMD64 CPU with SSE4.1 support, and graphics capable of OpenGL ES 3.0. The Flathub listing says ads and telemetry are disabled by default. Sober is closed source, which its developers say is intended to reduce the potential for abuse that could lead Roblox to block it. The project calls it experimental research software, so bugs or instability are possible and it may be discontinued. It cannot run multiple Roblox instances; the FAQ recommends Vinegar for Roblox Studio.
