SlideScan by Photomyne

SlideScan by Photomyne is an app for converting photographic slides into digital photos. It guides users to place a slide in front of a backlight, such as a computer screen, and capture it with the app. The app then crops, rotates, enhances, and saves the image in the app. Scans can be saved to a phone and shared as photos or collages.

SlideScan Basic is free for limited scanning, saving, and sharing, and the first few photos are free. Unlimited use requires a paid membership. Membership choices include recurring monthly and yearly subscriptions, plus a single-payment One-Shot plan. These include unlimited scanning, saving and sharing, photo backup and access on other devices and online, and enhancements. Prices vary by promotion, time of year, and location, and no specific amount is listed. Photomyne says the One-Time plan is valid for two years. SlideScan is available for Android and iOS, with web also listed among its platforms. Google Play reports that the developer says data is encrypted in transit and deletion can be requested. Photomyne's privacy policy says information may be shared with analytics and advertising partners.

SlideScan provides an app-based workflow for scanning and enhancing photographic slides. Basic use is limited; unlimited scanning and additional membership features require a paid option.

SlideScan suits people who want to digitize photographic slides using a phone camera and a backlight. It may also suit users who want to save or share scans as photos and collages.
