Showfoto
What it is
Showfoto is a stand-alone version of the digiKam Image Editor for editing image files stored on a device. Its tools cover colors, effects, transforms, decoration, enhancement, and RAW import; it supports RAW photos, masking, and batch editing. The Folders tab navigates directory structures and loads local image files. Showfoto can batch process files, although it does not include digiKam’s Batch Queue Manager. Compatible plugins include Time Adjust, Print Wizard, Metadata Editor, and HTML Gallery, while web-service tools can export items to services such as Flickr or Google. A separate DNG Converter can convert proprietary RAW containers to Digital Negative format. Showfoto is free and available for Linux, Windows, and macOS; downloads include Linux AppImage, Windows 10 or later, and macOS packages for Apple Silicon and Intel. It has no database, so it does not support image versioning. The digiKam project says photos, metadata, and settings remain on the device, and that the application has no tracking, analytics, or telemetry.
